Water mouse Mystery Maze
An interactive journey to discover the mysterious life of the Water Mouse (Xeromys myoides).
Have you ever seen a tiny water mouse?
This project brings together science, creativity and community to tell the story of one of Bribie Island’s most mysterious and important species: the threatened Water Mouse (Xeromys myoides).
Step inside a large-scale, interactive maze and journey through five connected coastal habitats—from the moving waters of Pumicestone Passage to the hidden world of the mangroves. Handcrafted by local jargums using recycled materials, this immersive experience blends ecological learning with vibrant community art.
Come explore the "community of life" beneath the mud, face the dangers of the saltmarsh, and discover how we can protect this precious island resident.
