CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND STORIES OF IAN FAIRWEATHER

An afternoon honouring Bribie Island’s legendary artist Ian Fairweather, followed by a cool drink and a Pumicestone Passage sunset.

Join us in celebrating Ian Fairweather, a renowned Australian artist and well-known identity of the Bribie Island community.

Ian lived on Bribie Island, creating his art in the bush from 1953 until his passing in 1974. His legacy remains locally and internationally through his art and fascinating life story.

In his own words, Ian had a great fondness for his life on Bribie Island; 'glad to be back in the sun . . . in the friendly bush'.

The Bribie Island Seaside Museum is proud to honour the life of Ian over a joyful afternoon of commemoration. Community members who knew Ian will share their photos and stories. There will also be an opportunity to view objects from the Fairweather collection.

The event will conclude with refreshments on the deck watching the sun set over the Pumicestone Passage.
